Just 40 minutes east of Brazil’s number one tourist destination, developers are beginning to start construction and expansion on a beautiful five mile stretch of Brazil’s coastline. Featuring balmy temperatures, white sand beaches, fresh seafood, and rich fishing and sailing grounds, the area is poised for attracting real estate investment. See the following article from International Living for more on this.
Just offshore, pink and yellow sails full of wind race a Panga parallel to the deep and wide white-sand beach.
A Panga is a flat bottomed sail boat fishermen use to take them offshore to rich fishing grounds. Sometimes they stay offshore for days at a time. Sleeping little, they rely on a tiny kerosene stove to heat their canned food or cook some of their catch.
It’s a Sunday, the day the fishermen rest, so I’m surprised to see him on the water. Then I remember the regatta is fast approaching. That’s the annual event when these fishermen sail competitively. Each village has their own regatta.
Turning left and right I can see nothing but miles of white-sand beach. The water winks invitingly. A warm 86 degree sunny day like today, with low humidity and a comforting breeze, is typical of most of the year. April can be muggy and rainy…but then again it can often be like today.

Laughter, and what sounds to me like shouting…although I’m sure it’s affectionate banter…drift on the breeze along with the smell and texture of burning wood. What looks like an extended family has set up base on a dune close by for a Sunday cook-out.
With my back to the ocean, I see low dunes covered in grasses that look like they would be prickly and painful underfoot. Beyond that, gently sloping hills. In the distance giant wind turbines tower over black and white Friesian cows.
Next stop is a short drive over that hill and a lunch of fresh fish on the veranda of a boutique hotel. No choice—you eat what you are given and it’s always fresh and delicious. From our vista looking east along the endless beach we see a lagoon meet the ocean at high tide.
As we leave, the beach has again separated the lagoon and ocean leaving a safe white-sand bottomed pool for kids to play and dogs to lunge at fish they don’t have a chance of catching.
This 5-mile stretch of coast is set to change. In fact, it already has. Down the beach, a $350-million mega resort is welcoming its first golfers. The luxury hotel officially opens two weeks from today. This is the first development…there’s more to come.
I’m not in some remote outpost—I’m just 40 minutes east of Fortaleza, Brazil’s #1 domestic tourism destination. This stretch of coast is set to be transformed. The early-in opportunity is now…
Brazil’s major developers (and some of Brazil’s biggest companies) have been landbanking here for years…decades in fact. Last week something big happened. Their major development plans for this 5-mile stretch of beach were approved. It’s game on. This is big…and it should be on your radar.
If this is something that interests you, I’ll cover the upcoming opportunities here in Real Estate Trend Alert.
